Advocacy

Through a team of lawyers and internationalists, we provide legal assistance (free of charge) to refugees and asylum seekers, guide the filling out of forms and questionnaires, prepare them for interviews and seek their rights before governments and international agencies.

Rescue

We carry out special high-risk operations, coordinated internationally by a team of specialists, to remove people in situations of extreme danger, whether through armed conflict, persecution, or in captivity, at the hands of criminal networks of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Assistance

We help people in a situation of forced displacement with food, medicine, clothing, clothing, shoes, personal hygiene equipment, mask, and alcohol gel. For pregnant women, we help to set up your trousseau. We help families to equip their new home with basic furniture (refrigerator, stove, beds, etc.).

Refuge

In our “transit houses”, we fully welcome people in a situation of refuge, usually for a period of three to six months, offering them free of charge a safe place and an atmosphere of care, where they can recover to face the challenges of rebuilding your life in the new country.

Integration

The arrival in the new country is only part of the restoration of a refugee's life story. For that to happen, we offer Portuguese classes, guidance on Brazilian culture, support in the search for a new job, and insertion in the local community, through “social friends”.

Training and Empowerment

In addition to Portuguese classes, we provide (in some cases through partnerships), computer classes, sewing, and sewing, construction, gastronomy, photography, etc. Aiming for its complete autonomy, we accompany our guests in obtaining a work card and opening a bank account.

Sensibilization

Migration has been presented negatively in Western societies. Most of the time this view is based on distorted stereotypes. Through courses, lectures, and publications, we provide reliable information, dispel myths and promote a culture of peace. We also enlist people and resources, channeling them into programs that generate life and hope.

Agroecology

In the new world we are building, care for the environment cannot be dissociated from any humanitarian action. Our agroecological production combines the care of the land, the care of the human being, and fair sharing. In an area of 5,000 square meters, we cultivate agroforestry where we produce vegetables and fruits in an organic system, guaranteeing the food security of vulnerable families.

Our generation is experiencing a huge transition from an institutionalized, hierarchical, local, to a more organic, flat, and globalized world. In this new context, companies and organizations from all sectors are transforming. Networking, with the exchange of experiences, partnerships, cooperation, and mutual support are strategic and synergistic. ABUNA commits its efforts to promote, nurture and participate in these new connections.
